Website design

The terms ‘website design’, and ‘website development’ are often used interchangeably, to mean the same thing. However, the two services are quite different.

Website design, is the process of conceptualization, for the purpose of solving a clients problem. Similar to the way an architect designs a house in concept first, by looking at the problem, and imagining a creative solution, a website designer will playfully build up a solution. This is far less technical than website development, which is the actual ‘building’ of a site in accordance with the plan laid out by the designer.

How to start designing a website?

The first step in any good design process, is to first get the ‘lay of the land’, or rather to survey what the actual problem is, before attempting to apply a solution.

A good approach is to ‘gather’ as much information about the problem as possible.

For this purpose, we have put together a comprehensive ‘Website design questionnaire‘, which helps our design team generate ideas.
